What we do

DJ, MC, and lighting under one creative direction. The energy doesn't drop between transitions because nobody's coordinating across three different vendors — it's all us, mixed live and timed to your run-of-show.

DJ

Open-format sets, mixed live. House, hip-hop, EDM, Top 40 — blended on the fly to whatever the floor's giving us. Most regional DJs press play on a playlist. We mix.

MC & Hosting

Calm on the mic, sharp on the timeline. We script announcements with you in advance, coordinate with photo and video, and keep the night moving without ever sounding like a hype-man.

Lighting Design

Wireless uplighting, dance-floor washes, custom monogram gobos. Color and intensity shift with the set — cocktail wash through dinner, peak energy on the dance floor.

About Manix

We mix live. Most don't.

Manix Entertainment runs weddings, corporate events, and private parties across the Capital Region. On paper the setup looks like every other DJ — speakers, lights, mic. The difference shows up at minute 12 of the dance floor: an open-format set blended live, house through hip-hop through Top 40, read off the floor and timed to the room.

Outside the booth, every event runs like a residency. Detailed timeline build, planning portal for must-plays and do-not-plays, multi-zone audio for ceremony through reception, full gear redundancy. Most of what shows up looking effortless took six weeks of prep.

How we work — three promises.

Booking a DJ for an event you only get one shot at is a leap of faith. These are the commitments we make in writing, every time.

You book me, you get me.

No subbing out, no surprise faces day-of. The person you talk to in planning is the person at the booth. One creative direction, first call to last song.

Locked pricing. No day-of surprises.

Final quote is final. Capital Region travel, setup, breakdown, and planning calls are baked in. Anything you add later gets confirmed in writing first.

Do you only do weddings, or other events too?
Weddings are most of the calendar — but we also run corporate galas, holiday parties, milestone birthdays, fundraisers, and school dances. Same craft, scaled to whatever the event calls for. Mention the event type when you inquire and you'll get a tailored quote.
Do you travel outside the Capital Region?
Yes. Most events are across upstate New York, the Berkshires, and the Hudson Valley. Travel beyond a 60-mile radius is quoted with the package — no day-of surprises.
How does booking and the deposit work?
We hold your date with a signed contract and 30% retainer. The remaining balance splits across two milestones, with the final payment due 14 days before your event.
Can we send a do-play and do-not-play list?
Yes — the planning portal is built for it. Must-plays, do-not-plays, genre preferences, all yours to load in. We blend your input with live floor-reading so the night feels personal, not generic.
How many planning meetings do we get?
Depends on the package. Core: a custom playlist consultation plus the online planning portal. Signature: two planning calls and a final timeline build. Custom: scoped to fit — typically multiple touchpoints during build-out and a final timeline review the week before.
Do you handle the ceremony and cocktail hour too?
Yes. Signature includes multi-zone sound — separate setups for ceremony, cocktail hour, and the main room — plus a discreet lavalier for the officiant. Core is a single-space setup. Custom events are quoted around your specific run-of-show.
