Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Manix Entertainment, LLC collects, uses, and discloses information when you visit www.manixentertainment.com or otherwise engage with us as a client, prospect, partner, or vendor. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy.
1.Who we are
We are Manix Entertainment, LLC, a single-member limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of New York.
This Privacy Policy informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data. We use your data to provide and improve the Service.
2.Definitions
Service. The Manix Entertainment website at www.manixentertainment.com and any related online or offline services operated by Manix Entertainment, LLC — including booking, planning, contracting, and event-production services.
Personal Data.Data about a living individual who can be identified from those data (or from those and other information either in our possession or likely to come into our possession). Under New York's SHIELD Act, this includes “private information” as defined in NY General Business Law § 899-aa.
Usage Data. Data collected automatically either generated by the use of the Service or from the Service infrastructure itself (for example, the duration of a page visit).
Cookies. Small pieces of data stored on your device.
Data Controller. The natural or legal person who determines the purposes for which and the manner in which any personal information is processed. We are the Data Controller of your Personal Data.
Data Processor (or Service Provider). Any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Data Controller. We use the services of various Service Providers in order to process your data more effectively.
Data Subject (or User). Any living individual who is using our Service and is the subject of Personal Data.
3.Information collection & use
We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service. We collect the minimum information necessary to deliver the Service and otherwise meet our legal and contractual obligations.
4.Types of data collected
Personal Data
While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. This may include, but is not limited to:
- •Email address
- •First name and last name (and, for weddings, partner's name)
- •Phone number
- •Address, state, ZIP / postal code, city
- •Event details (date, venue, guest count, vendor contacts, music preferences, special requests)
- •Cookies and Usage Data
- •Payment information (processed by our payment processors — we do not store full card numbers on our servers)
We may use your Personal Data to respond to inquiries, generate proposals, fulfill bookings and contracts, process payments, send transactional emails (booking confirmations, planning reminders, post-event follow-ups), and — where you have opted in — send newsletters, marketing, or promotional materials. You may opt out of marketing communications by following the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us at bookings@manixentertainment.com. Transactional emails are not subject to opt-out so long as you have an active booking with us.
Usage Data
We may also collect information about how the Service is accessed and used. This Usage Data may include your IP address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers, and other diagnostic data.
Tracking & cookies data
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our Service and hold certain information. Cookies are files with a small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.
Examples of cookies we use:
- •Session cookies — to operate our Service.
- •Preference cookies — to remember your preferences and various settings.
- •Security cookies — for security purposes.
- •Analytics cookies — to understand how visitors use the Service.
5.Use of data
Manix Entertainment uses the collected data for various purposes:
- •To provide and maintain our Service
- •To respond to inquiries and prepare proposals
- •To fulfill bookings, contracts, and event-production services
- •To process payments through our payment processors
- •To notify you about changes to our Service or to your bookings
- •To allow you to participate in interactive features (such as our planning portal)
- •To provide customer support
- •To gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our Service
- •To monitor the usage of our Service
- •To detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security incidents
- •To comply with our legal obligations under New York and federal law
- •To provide you with news, special offers, and general information about other goods, services, and events that we offer — only if you have opted in or have an existing relationship with us, and only where permitted by law
6.Legal basis for processing under the GDPR
If you are from the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, our legal basis for collecting and using the personal information described in this Privacy Policy depends on the Personal Data we collect and the specific context in which we collect it. We may process your Personal Data because:
- •We need to perform a contract with you (for example, fulfilling a booking)
- •You have given us permission to do so
- •The processing is in our legitimate interests and is not overridden by your rights
- •To comply with applicable law
7.Retention of data
We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, where we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable tax, accounting, or other legal requirements), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
Specifically:
- •Inquiry data from prospects who do not book is retained for up to 24 months, then deleted or anonymized.
- •Booking records, contracts, and related correspondence are retained for at least seven (7) years from the event date, consistent with New York's general statute of limitations on contract disputes and applicable federal tax-record retention requirements.
- •Payment records are retained as required by our payment processors and by tax law (generally seven years).
- •Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period, except when used to strengthen security or improve functionality of our Service, or where we are legally obligated to retain longer.
8.Transfer of data
Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
If you are located outside the United States and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to the United States and process it there. Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.
We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy, and no transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless adequate controls are in place.
9.Disclosure of data
Business transfers
If Manix Entertainment is involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or reorganization, your Personal Data may be transferred. We will provide notice before your Personal Data is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.
Disclosure for law enforcement
Under certain circumstances, we may be required to disclose your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (for example, a court or a government agency, including a New York State court or the New York Attorney General's office).
Legal requirements
We may disclose your Personal Data in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to:
- •Comply with a legal obligation
- •Protect and defend our rights or property
- •Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service
- •Protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public
- •Protect against legal liability
10.Security of data & the NY SHIELD Act
The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
NY SHIELD Act compliance. As a New York business that owns and licenses computerized data containing private information of New York residents, Manix Entertainment maintains a data-security program that includes reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards under the New York Stop Hacks and Improve Electronic Data Security Act (NY General Business Law § 899-bb).
Our reasonable safeguards include:
- •Administrative safeguards. Assigning one or more employees (in our case, the sole member) to coordinate the security program; identifying reasonably foreseeable internal and external risks; training employees and contractors in security practices; selecting service providers capable of maintaining appropriate safeguards.
- •Technical safeguards. Using vendors with industry-standard security (TLS encryption in transit, encrypted-at-rest storage where supported); maintaining current software; using strong authentication; reviewing access privileges regularly.
- •Physical safeguards. Securing physical devices (laptops, phones, removable media) with full-disk encryption, strong passwords, and prompt re-securing or wiping of any device that is lost or replaced.
11.Data breach notification
In the event of a breach of security that compromises your Personal Data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities in accordance with applicable law, including:
- •New York Information Security Breach and Notification Act (NY General Business Law § 899-aa). We will notify affected New York residents, the New York Attorney General, the New York Department of State, and the New York Division of State Police in the most expedient time possible and without unreasonable delay, consistent with the needs of law enforcement and any measures necessary to determine the scope of the breach and restore the reasonable integrity of the system.
- •Notification requirements under the laws of your state of residence, if you reside outside New York.
- •Where applicable, notification requirements under the GDPR (Article 33) or other foreign data-protection law.
12.Your data-protection rights under the GDPR
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have certain data-protection rights. We aim to take reasonable steps to allow you to correct, amend, delete, or limit the use of your Personal Data. To request any of these rights, please contact us at bookings@manixentertainment.com.
In certain circumstances, you have the following rights:
- •Right to access. Request a copy of the Personal Data we hold about you.
- •Right of rectification. Have your information corrected if it is inaccurate or incomplete.
- •Right to erasure. Request that we delete your Personal Data, subject to our legal-retention obligations.
- •Right to object. Object to our processing of your Personal Data.
- •Right of restriction. Request that we restrict the processing of your personal information.
- •Right to data portability. Receive a copy of the information we have on you in a structured, machine-readable, and commonly used format.
- •Right to withdraw consent. Withdraw your consent at any time where we relied on your consent to process your personal information.
Please note that we may ask you to verify your identity before responding to such requests. You have the right to complain to a Data Protection Authority about our collection and use of your Personal Data.
13.California residents' rights (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), gives you specific rights regarding your Personal Data, including:
- •Right to know what categories of Personal Data we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
- •Right to delete Personal Data we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- •Right to correct inaccurate Personal Data we maintain about you.
- •Right to opt out of sale or sharing. Manix Entertainment does not sell or share Personal Data for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined under the CPRA, and has not done so in the preceding twelve months.
- •Right to limit use of sensitive Personal Data. We do not collect sensitive Personal Data for purposes that require offering a limit-use option.
- •Right to non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA / CPRA rights.

14.New York residents' rights
If you are a New York resident, in addition to the rights described above, you have the rights granted by the New York SHIELD Act and New York's breach-notification statute. You also have the right to contact the New York Attorney General's office at ag.ny.gov regarding any concerns about our handling of your data. To exercise rights or raise concerns directly with us, email bookings@manixentertainment.com.
15.Children & minors (COPPA)
Our Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not provide any Personal Data through the Service.
If we learn that we have collected Personal Data from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will delete that information as soon as possible. If you believe we may have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us at bookings@manixentertainment.com.
For school-dance and similar bookings where minors are present at the event, the contracting party (the school, parent, or organization) is responsible for any consents required from minors or their guardians regarding photography, video recording, or social-media posting at the event. We will honor reasonable requests from the contracting party to limit or remove content depicting identifiable minors.
16.Service providers
We employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service (“Service Providers”), to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services, or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used. These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated by contract not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
The Service Providers we currently use include, but are not limited to:
- •Vercel — website hosting (Next.js)
- •Cloudflare / Namecheap — domain registration and DNS
- •Google Workspace — email infrastructure and document storage
- •Resend — transactional email delivery
- •DJ Event Planner — client relationship management, contracts, invoicing, planning portal
- •Stripe — credit and debit card processing
- •Zelle (through our business bank) — fee-free bank-transfer payments
- •Google Calendar — discovery-call scheduling
- •Google Meet — Video Calls and Conferencing
- •Google Analytics & Vercel Analytics — website analytics
- •Google Business Profile & Bing Places — business listings
- •Wave or QuickBooks Self-Employed — bookkeeping
- •An accountant / CPA and a New York–licensed attorney, on an as-needed basis
17.Analytics & advertising
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a web-analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data may be shared with other Google services. You can opt out of having your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Vercel Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service provided by our hosting platform. Vercel Analytics does not use cookies and does not track users across sites.
Advertising
From time to time, we may place advertisements on platforms such as The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola, Meta (Facebook / Instagram), TikTok, or Google. We do not provide those platforms with your Personal Data beyond what is necessary for their own targeting systems (for example, our own customer list for look-alike audiences, where lawful and only with your consent).
18.Social media
We maintain a presence on the following social platforms. Information you share with us on these platforms is also subject to the privacy policies of each platform:

We may publish photo, video, and audio captured at events on our social channels for portfolio and marketing purposes, consistent with the content-rights provisions of our DJ Services Agreement. We will honor reasonable requests to remove content depicting an identifiable individual upon written notice to bookings@manixentertainment.com.
19.Links to other sites
Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
20.Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “Effective date” at the top. For material changes that affect how we use your existing Personal Data, we will provide additional notice by email and/or a prominent notice on the Service prior to the change becoming effective. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
